Dingfonts are alphabet fonts using pictures to make up the characters. They are usually only ornamental, as they are difficult to read at smaller point sizes.

SL Fork'n Font

I have had several questions regarding the difference between dingbats and dingfonts. The examples I have here should illustrate the difference quite well:
A dingfont can be used to write text, while a dingbat is a picture that has no connection to the alpha-character it represents.

SL Sign Language

I don't have many dingfonts in my repertoire. This is the second and probably the last one for a while. It is difficult to decide whether this would qualify as a true dingfont.*G*
We used to use this two-handed sign language at school. While the other kids were writing papers on subjects we didn't take, we were supposed to be as quiet as mice. The only way to communicate was with sign language. Morse code was banned very quickly, for obvious reasons!
